I have a passion for linens. I can’t resist a pretty vintage tea towel, a dainty antique doily, or a slouchy old grain sack. I have a small collection of cherished pieces that I tuck away in a drawer that only I am allowed to use. I have to tell Josh which ones are for show, and which ones are for actual use, since he loves to mop up messes with our kitchen towels, rather than using them just for drying clean items like they were intended… (I don’t think he’ll ever quite get that concept). I love to take them out and display my favorites, rotating them as the seasons and my mood change.

You’ll see many of my favorites in my Etsy shop used as props, and often times my seasonal towels will be on display throughout the kitchen. I’m sure it’s probably silly that they don’t ever get used, but my theory is that I’ll enjoy them for so much longer if they actually stay clean. Of course accidents happen, and quite a few have ended up in the functional pile, usually the result of an occasional slip by Josh. :o) I just use it as an excuse to buy another.
The linens in these photos are all hand-made, fine weave, organic hemp and cotton blend oversized towels. They are new to the shop, and part of our imported organic linen line. Each is made from the finest vintage, hand-processed, hand-spun, organic hemp and cotton that are hand woven the old fashioned way on authentic hand looms. They are machine-washable, and get even more absorbent with each wash. They are intended as bath towels, but they are still wonderful in the kitchen, as European bath towels are much smaller than American versions. Yikes!
I can hardly believe it, but this month marks four wonderful years since I started my little online venture. It has been beyond rewarding to be able to do what I love for a living (shopping and being creative) all while staying in my pajamas. It’s been a dream come true.
To celebrate I’ve marked down more than half of the inventory in our Etsy shop, 15%
The prices will remain discounted through the end of February, no coupon code is necessary. It’s just our way of saying thank you to all of you who’ve made it possible for me to continue to do what I love. Thank you!
Just popping in to say hello, and that I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I had a pretty uneventful weekend myself. Josh had to work Sunday, not that I would have seen him anyway, with the super bowl happening. So I got some work done, and lounged around with my furry kids. Saturday was filled with errands and dog baths. Josh and I did managed to catch a movie at home, we watched Salt, with Angelina Jolie. It was pretty good, but I totally called some major plot points early on in the movie, so I do have to say it was a bit predictable.
I managed to load a few new offerings in the Etsy shop tonight. Here’s a sneak peek to help you decide if you want to head over:

That’s about all the news I have for today. I need to go feed myself something as somehow I’ve managed to only have a snack size bag of cookies and a bowl of banana nut Cherrios and it’s 6:00pm. Good thing Josh will be home in a bit or I might go hungry!
