nursery

I hope you all had a lovely long weekend. I’m back to share the last room on my home tour. (I do have one other room whichI didn’t include in the tour. It has been our guest room for quite some time but I am in the process of converting it into a playroom for Finn. I’m not ready to show that room just yet, so I will share it in a few months when I finish).

I have shared images of our nursery before. Here and here, if you’d like to take a peek. I haven’t updated much, but I love the room so much, there isn’t much I’ve needed or wanted to change so far. (Those old posts also say where I bought most of these items, but I’ll try to repeat most of that here).

The cabinet was from The Land of Nod, hamper from Pottery Barn Kids, and rug from Ikea. I did change out the nobs on the cabinet to the crystal knobs. The basket on top of the cabinet, I have had for years. It came from Crate and Barrel. The picture, chalkboard and swan push toy were all vintage finds.

The dresser was also a vintage find, and I really used it as my starting point. I knew it would fit perfectly under the window in this room and hold a changing pad nicely. The walls in here are a mint green and the olive green of the cabinet was a nice compliment to them.

I can’t recall where I found this sweet pillow, but I’ve had it tucked away for years. I decided to pull it out for the door of the nursery.

The swan push toy was found at Country Roads Antiques.

The lamp, gray crib, chandelier and drapes are all from Pottery Barn as well. Boy, if I had a dollar for every email I’ve received asking where I found my crib, I would be rich! Unfortunately the crib was on clearance at Pottery Barn Kids when I bought it and it has since been discontinued. The shelves, chandelier, drapes, and white cabinet were all items I had before decorating the nursery, I just moved them in here from other rooms of the house. The little bookcase is a built in, so really the green vintage dresser and the crib were the only two pieces of furniture I bought for this room. It’s a small space, so not much else would fit.

The old metal duck decoy was a Barn House Boys find. The crown moulding shelves, which I moved in from another room, were originally from Pottery Barn as well. I framed some old Spanish flash cards of animals in frames I found at Aaron Brothers. The ship was an Etsy purchase. And the little mobile my mother-in-law and I made from scrap fabric I had left over from the bedding, which we also custom made.

Many of the items in this room I found over the last several years, as we had plenty of time to plan for a baby while we were going through the adoption process and struggling with infertility. I would find something that I wanted for our “someday” baby and pack it away in hopes that I would get to use it someday. Thankfully that time is now, and we couldn’t be happier.

Thanks again for joining me on this tour! I’ve got to run, I have a wee-one calling for me!

my funny valentine

Just popping in to wish you all a happy Valentine’s Day.

Time got away from me today, but I’ll continue the house tour tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by!

family picnic

We took Finn on his first outdoor picnic today. The weather was perfect and we found a shady spot to sit and play.

We weren’t sure quite what to think of the bumpy grass and quilt to sit on…

We explored a little and watched Hannah chase her ball.

We read books…

And Hannah listened too…

We had lunch under the trees.

We goofed off a bit…

And giggled some too…

And we played in the grass…

And Dad raised me up as high as the trees…

I love to watch the leaves blow in the wind…

Such a fun day….

santa

because of few of you asked to see the pics with Santa….

and because I can’t help but share pictures of Finn….

christmas pixie

Today we are taking Finn to see Santa, and I am so excited! I bought him this sweet little red and white knit outfit just for this occasion. It was a tad too big today when we put it on, but I love it just the same. While we were getting dressed, the lighting in his room was so pretty I just had to grab my camera, and capture a few of these cherished moments.

He’s napping now, but as soon as he wakes we’re off to see Santa himself. Merry Christmas!
