barn house love

Last year I was brave enough to fly out to Washington to the Farm Chicks Show. (I say brave enough, because I am terrified of flying). And while I was there I fell in love. From the moment I happened upon the Barn House Boys booth, I was swooning with excitement and downright lust for their treasure filled space. I bought anything and everything that I thought I could get home with me on the plane. (Did I mention there was a propeller plane involved?!?!)

Then to top it off, I was lucky enough to get a invite to a private party hosted by these boys and their friends.  Read about that here: (in a prior post). Jo and Jermonne were two of the nicest, sweetest, and insanely talented men I have ever met. I was brimming with inspiration when I left them, and have been so sad each time I got notice of their Barn House event sales, that were a whole terrifying plane ride away. Then finally, a light appeared in the tunnel vision that was my desperate longing to shop with them… They announced the opening of an online shop!!!! I have been quietly stalking it ever since… I mean just look at my obsession:

They have the most amazing treasures! And if any of these items tickle your fancy, run, don’t walk, to their site, as this stuff seems to sell quicker than you can click the “add to cart” button. (All photos from the Barn House Boys new site).

Amy - I know what you mean, I would probably die if I ever got to experience a sale, the way it all comes together is simply amazing design. You are too brave to fly I could never get the nerve to do such a thing no matter how great the end was.

Teresa Sheeley - I know, right? They are awesome. :) Lucky you for winning and all the treasures that you received. Between your wonderful finds, and theirs, I am always inspired. You should take a road trip with your hubby to the Portland area, much better than flying. :)

Ramona - Hey there ~

I agree with Teresa…a road trip from So. Cal to the Northwest is a gorgeous drive…especially through Shasta…I say that because I too do not like to fly…but the real sad story here is that I live in northern Oregon and I have not been to a sale with the Boys…SAD, right?

I love your finds…definitely food for the ol’ soul.

Jen - Swoon!

March 18, 2010 - 12:44 pm

Jena - So excited to hear the news of a baby! You will be the best mommy ever and I know you can’t sleep at night with the excitement of what is to come and all of the fun things to do! I have been following you now for a couple of years so i think our taste is pretty much the same. I would recommend a Bella Notte feel, something soft with a neutral color, cremes or whites on an old iron shabby baby bed. I also think that you could integrate the book idea by using old pages out of baby books and make a chain to hang on the bed. I would then find some old vintage baby pics and hang them above the bed. I also think some old silver baby cups would be precious hanging from a chandelier! Ok, enough for now, I am just so excited for you guys!!
