As promised I took a few shots of some of the goodies I recently acquired at the Farm Chicks show, so I wanted to share those today with all of you! Most of these items below are from the show, but I did use a few of my recent estate sale finds to stage a few things for better pictures…. There are a ton of smaller items, so I decided to have fun with a collage of sorts:

I am still really into the whole black and white thing at my house, and I am starting to work in a bit of gray here and there… the books in the top photo are from Josh’s family. I decided to start an old black book collection. (Although I cheated and there are a few navy in there too). I love the monochromatic look of them. I plan to use the old brushes in my kitchen on the wall. (I was inspired by Elizabeth Maxon’s kitchen redo). I loved the little silver crumb catchers I found to go with them.
I am also finding myself drawn to religious items (old rosaries, saint medallions, and statues). So I did manage to buy a few of those while I was at the show.

The old pocket watch on a rosary might be my favorite find of the weekend. Lisa sold it to me AFTER the show at the private Barn House/Tarte event we were at, and right off her neck! I just love it!

The feather was something I picked up at the Barn House booth. These boys were so inspiring to me. I think their booth may have been my favorite. I would have bought a TON more from them had I not worried so much about how to get things home. (Speaking of getting things home… you should have seen Tara and I with our bags running through the airport, and with that feather shedding all over! It was quite a site!)

At the Barn House/Tarte event on Saturday night we were given these old book covers with a few pages inside to write down contact info and such from the people we met there. It was such a great idea and the girls and I all wrote notes to each other in them (kind of like signing a yearbook). When I got home I used mine to hold all the other mementos from my weekend. (Plane tickets, postcards, business cards from the people I met, the farm chicks event map, etc). It acts as a little scrap book now of my weekend and I really enjoy looking at it. It was the best weekend I’ve had in a long time. (It’s hard not to have fun when you’re with about 14 other girls who all love the same things as you, and you get to spend the weekend shopping!!!!)
That’s about all I have to share for today. :o) Thanks for checking in on me!
