Her Mama’s Freckles

freckles

I had to post this photo of my baby Hannah because I love so! She’s such a deep dark chocolate brown, that sometimes she just looks like a black lab in photographs. (I like to say she’s “dark chocolate”, because that’s my favorite!) But this one I took yesterday is so light and bright that you can see the cute little freckles on her nose. (I’m pretty sure she got those from me). :) She’s such a sweet loving dog and her expression shows that demeanor perfectly. I’m such a proud mama. :)

Wishing all of you a relaxing, and love-filled weekend! I have a fun shoot today and tomorrow, so I hope to share some pictures next week on the blog.

Swedish Serenity

I know it’s been awhile since I have shared photos of my home, so I snapped a few today for this post. I was feeling inspired by some of the blogs out there I finally got around to paying a visit too. (I’m so sorry my dear friends, I know I don’t visit you nearly enough!)

I’ve been drawn to the simple and serene tones of Swedish decor for the last year or two. I would LOVE to have an all white front room and bedroom, but I’m afraid the dark pet hair from my sweet Hannah, Annabelle, and Mason will not allow it. I am however, getting closer and closer to what I want it to be.

There is my sweet Annabelle (above) peeking in from the front porch. Just look at that face… I don’t think I could sacrifice the love I feel for (and from) the three of them for a pristine house. The endless shedding is well worth the reward. :)

So for now, I’ll just have to take selective pictures, edit out the pet hair, and let you all *think* I live in a pristine, and pretty home. :) Pretty tricky, aren’t I? Tee hee he.

Melancholy Musings

I’ve been playing with some nature photos lately.  I am always inspired to grab my camera just after the rain stops. The sky looks so bright and hopeful when it peeks through from behind the haze of purple clouds. The lighting is incredible and somehow everything looks just a little more amazing to me. Renewed, refreshed, and somehow reborn. I shot a couple pictures after the last week of rain we had and felt inspired to play with them today.

I really liked the feel of these two. Especially when cropped and framed. I made the polaroid frame from scratch in photoshop and thought it lent itself  nicely with these images. It seemed to be keeping in the soft and serene tone I wanted to set.  The colors and imagery instantly evoke a feeling of melancholy for me.

I struggle with my focus in photography. I want to learn so many things that I find it hard to pick and choose where I focus myself.  Every time I am inspired by another artist, my mind races with possibilities and ideas for new endeavors.  My confidence is dwindling a bit, but I aspire to grow and learn as much as I can, while I can.

This blog has given me a place to explore and share those passions.  I appreciate the comments and feedback you all leave me, it often is the driving force in keeping my spirits lifted and pushing me toward new goals.

Happy Friday everyone!
