a new look for 2008

Bloghand

Now that I am designing sites and graphics for other people more and more, my excitement about my own site starts to fade. I like to change things up and keep them interesting every now and then. This newest site overhaul has been the largest project I have tackled yet. So large in fact, that I did not meet my 2008 deadline.

I have been excited about this new look for months, and decided to partially release it, while I still work out the kinks with the "boutique" end of things.

One of the things I love most about the new site, is that I get to update pictures on each of the main pages whenever I want. I love photography and am trying to get better and better at it, so this gives me a place to showcase some of my favorite shots. (A place aside from my blog, that is). I even have pictures of my home on the "about us" page that are fun to change out as I redecorate and change styles. (Teaser….) ….I have a fun little secret that I can’t wait to share next month!…. maybe this post will give you a hint…. (…..End teaser). I just love to torture you gals with those teasers! :)

Anywho, please stop by the shop and drop me a note to tell me what you think of the new look. And if you are feeling like that Christmas money you received is burning a whole in your pocket, you can still shop the boutique from the old site while we are in transition.

Happy New Year!

Kari - Hi Sara,
I have been admiring your blog for several months now but rarely have time to post as I recently had my 2nd baby so my hands are full most days! However, that doesn’t keep me from window shopping and lusting after your house late at night after the kiddies are asleep! We have so much in common as I too love french/european/vintage design and flea-marketing, and my whole family including myself prior to kids, is in the real estate and mortgage industry. My Dad owns his own brokerage firm and it has been SLOW. I also secretly love photography and wish to pursue it more! Kudos to you for taking an unfortunate employment slump in this ever-down-spiraling industry and using it to your advantage to pursue your dream! I am so exicted to see your blog and boutique develop and I am anxiously awaiting new house photos! It is great inspiration to see what others with similar taste are doing.

I am wondering if you would share your paint colors in your kitchen and family room. It looks like a butterschotchy-carmely-tan, but maybe it’s just my monitor. It also looks like you fauxed the kitchen. I have been agonizing over paint colors and am looking for a warm golden tan or caramel color that’s not too beige but doesn’t scream yellow either… just hoping you might have a great color in your repertoire!

Thanks in advance & keep up the good work. I think you are about to “blow up”…. I can see your home being featured in design mags now… and the next thing you know you have a brick & mortar store. How inspiring! I secretly wish I could open a store or just start designing for clients & friends(people have also told me to pursue this vein but I am so busy with kids that it’s totally unrealistic now) while simultaneously honing my photography skills. Someday!

ellen Crimi-Trent - Hi Sara,

I love the new design! I just wanted to let you know I did find it a little hard to see what is under your address and name. The words, blog etc. are not easy to see and I know enough to click on the word but I am not sure someone else might. Maybe make the words more bolder and bigger so you could read it easier. Otherwise everything is as beautiful as ever and I see your work everywhere! Jennifer Paganelli, Tara;s blog you are on a roll congrads!

Yours is one of the blogs I go to when I need to go to Blog Heaven. It’s always blown my mind how you can create such beautiful blogs yourself.

Your house is lovely too, but of course!
