Did you see it?

I just received my issue of Romantic Home magazine today and was so excited to see our "friendship glasses" featured. I am just in LOVE with this magazine, and it’s not just because I am in it! :)

Here is a peek at the cover for the November issue, in case you haven’t seen it yet.

And this is the page our glasses are on (page 20). It is just so exciting for me I can’t even tell you!

The December issue will be even more exciting for me since the talented and generous Tara decided to feature my blog in her new article. I don’t think anything can top my excitement about these honors.  Thank you, thank you Tara and Romantic Home magazine!

Some new pretties….

I did it again… went shopping for myself that is. I love my new pretties and took some photos to share with you. I embellished them a little with my new favorite photo frames. (By Sande Kreiger).

This new dolly has got to be one of my favorite Halloween decorations. "Glitter girl" is what the lady at the store called her. I bought her in the Orange Circle at a little shop I can’t remember the name of… Victoria Company, maybe?

Blog

I bought this cute sign at one of my favorite stores in the circle, "Blessings". It was purchased with my front door in mind. I love how it looks hanging there with the black and white ribbon I added.

I recently acquired all three of these hands… the largest one I found at the flea market, although I saw them in some stores in the Orange Circle too. I have wanted one ever since Fifi posted about hers. :) The two smaller ones are Santos doll hands and were purchased at "Blessings" in the Orange Circle. I just love all three of them. I think they will stay out all year round…

Anywho, I guess that’s enough bragging about my goodies for one day. I wish everyone a safe and happy weekend!

Karla’s house party

Well I may be a bit to late for Karla’s house party, but I just love the idea of her post and decided to take a few pictures of bits and pieces of my home and share in the fun.

Blog2_2

My first picture is of my fireplace mantel in the from room. Which is the "formal" living room of sorts. We only really use it when there are parties at the house, or for reading magazines on occasion. It’s a very bright room and it looks out at my new front porch, which I love. I have it decorated here for Halloween. (Budda looks a little out of place, but I just love him).

Blog1_2

This is the tin ceiling in my dining room, which I take no credit for. The prior owner made this design choice and it is something I just adore about the house. I hung my newest tin Halloween goodies from the chandelier.

Blog4_2

I know you all have seen the vignette before, but it really is a favorite of mine. I love the black and white hats with the black and white painted harlequin pattern in the background.

Blog3_2

These crown molding shelves are in my formal living room also, next to the fireplace. I love changing the display with the new items I get in. Right now the new goodies from the store are on display.

Blog5_3

This piece is one of my favorites. Josh and I found it in San Clemente at an antique store. It’s an old shoe rack, which we have used to display wine, and various items we love. Right now it’s in my new master bedroom holding a few odds and ends.

Blog8_2

This corner cabinet is in our hallway outside a bathroom with absolutely no storage. I took the curtains out and strung some starfish by an old rusty wire to change things up. I love how it came out. It provides just enough camouflage for the toiletries inside.

Blog9_2

Across from the corner cabinet are these built in drawers and cabinets. They are very deep and give us so much space to store towels and linens. I just love the look of them.

Blog7_2

This last one is a peek into my pantry. I love that my house has a pantry. It has a pocket french door we can close off, but still see through, so I try to keep thinks pretty inside. These baskets are on the top shelf, and the cutting board Josh’s mom hand painted for us.

Thanks for taking my "home tour". I hope you enjoyed your stay.

these items just in…

I just got finished adding some new items to the store. I thought I would highlight some of my favorites.

Bellcloche

This little bell cloche is the newest addition to the collection of cloches we offer. I love how pretty is looks staged in this photo with the silver cake plate.

Eggprints

This set of four framed prints are reproductions from the 19th century. The prints themselves are 5 x 7 and they are framed in pine, with a dark stain. They can be hung vertically or horizontally.

Platter

I love these new platters in brown and cream. These transferware platters are sold in a set of three.

Knives2

These pens are a fun accessory to your vintage office. Fashioned after vintage silverware, these refillable pens are sold separately. Styles vary. These will make great stocking stuffers!

Wirephoto

This rusty wire photo holder has arrived just in time for the holidays. Try using this piece to display your holiday cards.

We also got several new charms in. All of them are vintage inspired and most of them french. You can find them here.  I hope you enjoyed the window shopping! :)

a shopping trip for me!

I was able to somehow convince Josh to go with me to the Barn Sale in Temecula today…. and I found a few new goodies for myself that I just couldn’t resist.

These two pictures are from Sherry from Prairie Home. They are vintage pieces, with a little water damage on one, but overall in very good condition. I wanted to use them in our guest room, which has been very stark since I can’t decide what to put on the walls in there… I think they add a bit of warmth to the room…

Img_1777

The room really only gets used by our two cats, which is why if you look closely enough you can probably see gobs of cat hair on the bedspreads. I am also editing out the cat box with is at the foot of one of the beds… I have found they don’t photograph well… (lol).

I also purchased a chalk board from Heather at Present Past. It is really framed beautifully. It has a canvas type mat surrounding it and gold and rust coloring on the frame. I hung it above the built in bench in our dining room. It looks very festive for fall with the autumn coloring…

We also made a trip into old town Temecula and got a few new goodies over there… some black mini urns and some Halloween decor… I haven’t been shopping in awhile so it was so much fun to find new things.

I’m off to eat some dinner! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
