construction progress

Lucky for me, the long weekend meant we had some time to work on our ongoing construction project. The closet doors were installed in the new master bedroom, we finished up the base board and moulding in the room, installed the outdoor lighting on the addition, and set up the drainage for the new paved patio. (The pavers will be next). Here are a few photos so you can see the progress….

The closet doors are still missing the door knobs and locks to keep them closed, but it’s a big improvement. I’ve been staring into these open closets for months!
Here are the new outdoor fixtures (nothing fancy, a basic light from Smith and Hawkin), and the fresh unpainted stucco work. You can also see the unfinished soffit work that needs to be done, and the new drain pipes sticking out of the ground… It feels like there is no end in sight!

This is a peek at one of the corners in my new bedroom. I hung the carved wood piece this weekend (a Pottery Barn find), and hung some of my grain sacks from it (got the idea right out of the Pottery Barn catalog!) I love how it came out.

And last but not least, I found one!!!!!! This is the new butter dish I have been scrambling all over to find. I bought it on ebay. It is a reproduction, but even the reproductions are very hard to find. I paid probably too much for it, but it’s worth it, considering how obsessed with finding one I have been lately. I haven’t decided where to put it yet, but I am so ecstatic to have one!

And the winner is….Emily!

I had so much fun reading every one’s comments. Thank you all so much for reading and for entering. It is now 5:oopm on the dot, and I have 48 total comments. Special thanks to Violets Are Blue’s random number generator link, that I learned about on Heather’s site, to make this all a lot easier on a gal! The randomly picked number is #28. Who is Emily! Emily please contact me so I can send you out your goodies. When I click on your name it tells me your profile is private, so I have no way of contacting you.

Thanks again to everyone for your nice comments. I will be sure to post about the magazine article when I hear something. Keep your fingers crossed for me! :)

give away

As promised, this post is for my first ever give-away. I am so excited to see who will comment, who reads my blog, and to hopefully make some one happy with a present for doing so! I can’t tell you how much all of your comments mean to me. It has made blogging so much fun for me. I look forward every day to checking my email for comments. Sometimes I just can’t believe how sweet all of you can be. I feel blessed to have such good friends.

I received an email a few weeks back from Tara at Bella Pink who asked if I would be interested in allowing my blog to be featured in her column for Romantic Homes magazine. I was ecstatic at the notion and of course screamed “yes!” I haven’t heard for certain if or when I will be featured, but I have to tell you, I have never been so honored in my life! For as long as I can remember I have dreamt of what it would be like to have my home pictured in a magazine, and although this isn’t my home being featured, it is darn near the next best thing. (After all there will be photos of my home in the column). It just floors me that my little ol’ blog would even be considered. I hope you all enjoy reading it, as much as I enjoy posting on it.

And so this gift is for you, my new blogging friends. I hope it makes one of you happy. It’s a modest little thank you gift, but it’s a token of my appreciation for you, your comments, and your friendship. (Geeze! You’d think with that speech I was accepting an Oscar or something!)

Here is what the winner will receive: 1) Tutti Fruitti table runner 2) several vintage tickets 3) five old bingo cards 4) an assortment of random playing cards 5) twenty (or so) bingo markers 6) pale green beaded garland 7) heart shaped “Barn Roof Post Card” 8) pretty feather trim for crafting 9) vintage glitter number six and seven 10) European Garden Pail from my shop.

Please leave a comment to be entered into the drawing. I will chose one lucky winner at random on Tuesday at 5:00pm. (Pacific time). That way people have the long weekend to relax and can still enter after the 3 day weekend is over. Good luck to all of you!

more goodies

I have officially put all of the new products online, and then today I got another shipment of Secret Leaves journals. So the work I thought I had finally finished is now starting over…. Oh well, a woman’s work is never done. :) Besides, it’s the thrill of my day to get new products in.

I just love these journals. They are so beautiful and delicate. The designs are so unique and just my taste. Here is a peek at some of my favorites.

As always, please feel free to contact me if you just can’t wait until I get these beauties online. Happy shopping!

P.S. I have had time to think about my give-away, and I’m putting the goodies together now so I can get some good pictures up. (Should be my next post, I promise!).

sneak peek

I have a sneak peak at some of the fun new arrivals I am working hard to get online in the store. (Just need a day or two more). I just love each of these pretty new trinkets. Hope you all feel the same!
What’s even better, is there is even more to come!
