In Print

It isn’t very often that I get to see the elements I design for clients in print, so when Garrett of Farmstead sent me a package yesterday with his signature scent laundry soap and fabric softener I was pretty elated to see the labels that adorned them. I was instantly inspired to grab my big girl camera and style them with some vintage goodies.

I wanted to share on the blog because I am so proud of how they came out, and I had to brag a bit about how AMAZING my whole room smells with them in it. (Think freshly washed clothing air dried on a clothesline in the summer breeze…. perfection).  If you haven’t fallen in love with Farmstead just yet, take a peek at his vintage washed flannels… you won’t be disappointed.

The Wardles

Andrea is my cousin-in-law (if there is such a thing). She and Strider were married last year and I had the privilege of taking their engagement photos and helping them design their wedding invitations. It was a great honor that they trusted me to help with such important  details, so when they asked me to document some maternity photos this weekend, I just couldn’t say no.

We met for one hour today in the same location we took their engagement pictures and I am so pleased with how they came out. I wanted to share a few of my favorites with all of you… and to give Andrea a peek at what we captured today.

Congrats Andrea and Strider! Finn can hardly wait to play with a new baby cousin, and neither can I!

Krista and Brian

I’ve slowly been diving back into photography this year. I’m pacing myself and being very selective about the types of sessions I agree to and how many I accept a month, so I don’t get burnt out again. So far it is working out beautifully for me. The only challenge has been finding time to edit when I also have the design part of my job and Finn pulling me in other directions.

Last weekend I booked a session with a lovely couple looking for a maternity shoot with a few holiday card pictures sneaked in here and there. We almost had to reschedule due to rain, but decided last minute that we would just chance it and I’m so glad we did. The light was beautiful.

The couple has the sweetest little dog, Penny, whom they adore, so she had to be included, of course.

I had so much fun shooting this adorable family. I can’t wait until they discover how much fun little boys can be and what amazing joy they will have added to their lives. Congratulations Krista and Brian! Penny is going to be a wonderful big sister!
