Kimberly Taylor

I mentioned earlier this week that I would be sharing sneak peeks at some of the gorgeous content we’ve been working on for Creatively Made Home. Well today I wanted to highlight Kimberly Taylor and the amazing things she’ll be sharing with the students of our e-course.

Allow me to introduce Kimberly Taylor….

Kimberly is an amazing photographer and creative woman living on a few acres of land just outside Seattle. Her home, style, and photography skills are impeccable and even more amazing – she is completely humble and down to earth. I met Kimberly a few years ago at the Farm Chicks show (one of the few times in my life that I forced myself to fly, as I HATE flying!) and I instantly felt a connection with her. I had very seldom met any of my blogging friends in person and  a few of them made a lasting impression on me that motivated me to reach out and try to build a more substantial friendship. And Kimberly was one of them.

Making new friends and (gulp) even being social doesn’t come that easily to me – at least not when it comes to in-person friendships (which obviously are a bit more normal than “blogging” friends). It may be strange but I find it so much easier to share somewhat anonymously from my computer with total strangers than to open up and socialize in person. My insecurities and anxiety seem to overwhelm me at times and I won’t even attempt to venture out even when I really want to. Anyway, this is supposed to be about Kimberly….

Kimberly is easy to talk to, open and honest, and incredibly inspirational. She traveled a few years ago to India (by herself!) for her birthday to explore, learn and photograph her adventures. I followed along on her journey through the images she posted on facebook and was just in awe that she could be so adventurous and brave. She travels frequently and shoots editorial content for several magazines (Souvenir included) and her life at home is equally inspiring.

She uses her land to live like most of us dream to… with chickens and farm fresh eggs, horses, and poppy fields…

She harvests lavender… and hangs her clothes on a line to dry….

She makes her own yogurts and jams and uses ingredients from her land to cook for her family….

Her husband also throws pottery and creates beautiful pieces that Kimberly uses in her stunning food photography and home.

These are just a few of the things that this Creatively Made Home e-course is about. It’s so much more than a home decorating course. It’s more about sharing these amazing lifestyles with you in the most personal way we know how. Through video and images and a live forum where the students can gather and inspire one another. It’s sort of like an online magazine but with video in addition to amazing photography.

I hope this inspires some of you as much as it does me. The course begins October 22nd, so it’s starting in just 17 more days – that’s little more than two weeks away! So don’t delay and register now! You can use the PayPal button in my sidebar or click here: Creatively Made Home

I so hope you will join us!

Creatively Made Home

I am so excited to share with you our brand new e-course!

Four of my wonderfully talented friends and I are teaching an online course all about our homes, and how we decorate, entertain and live a life that reflects our hearts. It’s going to be a intimate glimpse into each of our homes and lives that you are just not able to get through pictures or a blog post. All five of us are recording videos of our homes, our decorating style, and even a few projects that you are sure to enjoy and take something away from.

Here is more on this amazing five week course…

Creatively Made Home is a five week online course that will be hosted by:

Tracey Leber

myself… Sara Duckett

Kimberly Taylor

Jennifer Rizzo

Jeanne Oliver

We wanted to create a course that celebrated what really matters in your home… and your family. Celebrating what makes life beautiful in the everyday. Life is not about having the perfect home with the most expensive furniture and accessories. It’s about loving what you put into it, and making sure your home reflects your personality and passions.

Since becoming a mom last year, my home has changed and so have many of my priorities. Spills happen, white sofas have dog hair on them more days than not, and “kid clutter” is everywhere! We all live differently, and much of what you see on my blog and in my photos is so NOT real life around here. Many of you have lovely homes already and many of you are longing to make changes to “beautify” your homes in large or small ways. We hope this course will inspire you to get started, inspire you with new ideas, and overall just show you how our own homes became what they are today – a reflection of our hearts and families.

Our desire is that this five week online course will change how you see yourself, your home and your family.

* Each week you will have amazing truthful videos from not only the five teachers but other creative women.

* Each week we will take a room from one of YOU and all five women will give their suggestions telling you how they would transform the room with their style.

* There will be 50+ project videos. (These will be incredible videos that include everything from gardening, cooking, gift giving and decorating.)

* There will be written tips from each woman telling you how she starts a room, picks paint, fabrics, etc.  You will learn where to start when putting your own home together.

* Tons of beautiful and inspiring house photos from each of the five women.

* Videos that truly reflect what life is like in each of their homes.

* Each woman will share their own truthful journey about how they started making their home a reflection of their hearts.

* Each person registered will get an easy entertaining e-book to download. It will contain go to recipes for beautiful and easy entertaining (they do go together), photos of table settings that take the stress out of having people over, favorite drinks and so much more (and their funniest entertaining story).

* There will be a private Facebook group to connect with other class members.

* There will be a once a week live discussion with one of the teachers!

* You will get printables and pdfs to keep and use again and again.

This course is about loving your home, loving your family and blessing those around you….and having fun doing it.

If you have taken any of the courses that Jeanne Oliver has taught you know how much she puts into them.

This course will lavish you with ideas, beauty, inspiration, joy and encouragement!

Come and play house with us.

Class begins October 22.

Registration is now open!

Early Evening

I have really been enjoying this weather we’ve been having. The evenings are perfect being outdoors when the heat of the day starts to mix with the chilled breeze that blows in.

I snapped this image the other night while taking some engagement pictures for Josh’s cousin. They came out really cute, but I don’t want to share them and take away the fun of her showing them to everyone when sending out her “save the dates”. So I’ll share them a bit later. :)

I have officially gained back the not-so-flattering extra pounds I lost before Finn arrived, so now I have to start over trying to ease myself into exercising when I am very possibly the worlds worst self-motivator (at least when it comes to exercise and eating right).

Last night I talked myself into going on a walk with Josh, Finn and Hannah, and I was fully prepared to sweat, and even jog a little – but Josh knows me too well and wore his flip flops, which just made it easier for me to decide to walk at a leisurely pace. (I can’t really blame him for the bowl of ice cream I had when we got home though. I justified it by saying I needed to eat the rest so I won’t have any in the house as future temptation).

While we strolled along, I couldn’t help but snap pictures on my phone. There is just something about that early evening sunlight that makes everything look magical.

The pretty soft music I had playing in my ears helps too. Now I just need to play something a bit more upbeat and fast-paced so I will jog off some of this cushion. ;)
