Hooray it’s October, which always marks my favorite time of year, Autumn! I was super excited to break out my Halloween decorations this year. For those of you who’ve read my blog for a while, you know that Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday to decorate for. I have long gathered collections of pumpkins, witch hats and spooky objects that I enjoy putting on display as soon as October rolls around. And this year (of course) made it even more fun with Finn around to enjoy them as much as I do.

I’ve taken a bunch of pictures of what I’ve done so far so I could share and get all of you in the celebratory mood I’m in. So come on in and have a look around….

The corn husk wreath (above) my mother-in-law made me with corn she grew in her garden. Just dry the husks, buy a styrofoam wreath and get your glue gun. I love it on the front door against the black, and it’s held up surprisingly well for two years now.

My favorite decorations are on the mantle this year, since my cloches have also made their way over there. I love them split into two separate groupings and next to the spider webbed light fixtures.

Even St. Francis enjoys Halloween at my house. ;) I filled an old wooden tray with spooky objects (old victorian shoes, worn and weathered alarm clocks, spooky potion bottles, old photographs, black lacy netting, and more…)

My pumpkin people get to guard the front door and greet trick-or-treaters this year.

The pixies are still safely caged and guarded under glass.

Even my light fixtures get black netting and glittery charms.

I plopped my pumpkin head onto a vintage trophy, and I love how it looks as though she has sassy arms on her hips now.

Thanks so much for visiting! If you enjoy seeing images of my home, I’d love to for you to join us October 22nd in the Creatively Made Home e-course I will be co-hosting this month with my lovely friends. The course is filled with inspirational images, projects, and videos of everyday life around each of our five homes. We’ve all been working so hard at creating the very best images and videos to inspire you all.

I’ve been anxious to share so many of the new photos I’ve taken already, but I want to make sure the students of this class have something fresh and new to see from me. I will be sharing some sneak peeks this week at the types of videos and projects you can expect to see from me during the course to hopefully entice a few more of you to join us!

You can read more about the course by clicking here: Creatively Made Home

If you want to sign up, just visit the page above and use the PayPal link at the bottom of the page, or in my sidebar on the homepage of my site. Your payment will be received, and you will automatically be added to the class roster. (Passwords and log on info will be sent out the day before class begins).

Feel free to also grab a blog button to help us promote the class and spread the word! (The code is also in my sidebar.)

Happy October friends!

Halloween is my LEAST favorite holiday. It’s scarey! But you’ve done a great job decorating. I love your door. It’s funny because on my computer it looks deep navy blue, so I was surprised when you said it’s black. That would be gorgeous too. You can’t have too much black. I was wondering if you remember where you got the hook that’s holding up the wreath?

Hi Sara I love all your fall decor. I also love your front door. I like how it’s white inside. All your photos are inspiring me to decorate for fall.

My dad and I always swap witches in sneaky ways so I have a nice collection by now and enjoy decorating too. This makes me want to get mine out! I love the pumpkin on the trophy too. Cute how that turned out. Thanks for sharing your photos. Katey
