week in review

This week, we tackled “mommy and me” swim lessons so Finn could get acquainted with the water. His friend, Vivienne (above) bought the class as a gift for us for Finn’s birthday. We had fun, but, boy, it was A LOT of work. The class was Monday through Thursday, four days in a row, and the change in routine and nap time really affected us both.

Finn loves the water, but I think being around all the kids and crying babies, made him a bit cranky each day. He would fuss just about the entire length of the class. The only time he wasn’t fussing was when he got to “jump” off the side of the pool into my arms. (He loves anything that gets his adrenaline going). Thankfully, class is over and we are recovering at home today with a nice restful day in the air conditioning. This heat has been awful!

I’ve been making small changes around my home to prepare for filming and shooting the Creatively Made Home class I’ll be teaching in October. (Including switching out the chandelier in my dining room, which I did today). I’ve been holding on to the chandelier for over a year now, and I love that it finally went up! The class has been the perfect excuse to get Josh motivated to finish some of those “honey-do’s” he’s been putting off. ;)

It’s not easy to keep things clean and tidy, on a daily basis, so it’s been a challenge to have myself AND my home camera ready at the same time. Chasing a toddler around doesn’t make things any easier.

I’ve got some major plans to tackle this weekend for the class, so wish me luck.  And while you’re at it, wish me none of these grumpy faces…

lol… is it wrong that I find the unhappy pictures so amusing? ;)

Stay cool this weekend folks!

I absolutely love that photo of Finn, it made me laugh too!
I have lots of photos like that of my boys.
I can’t wait to see your home videos and all of the other ladies as well!
Hope you have a great weekend and try and stay cool in this heat.

That can be hard with swimming that many days in a row I think. Poor guy and poor you.

Love the expression on that last photo too. You can use it as blackmail someday. haha…

    Your class sounds pretty intriguing!

i was clicking around on my computer and came across your site. I remember your rooms from Nate’s show. I have recently started a decorating blog and I wanted to know if the ecourse you are offering is for people who already know how to decorate but want to gain some ideas or if it’s for those who are just starting to do a project on their own, and need the basics to get on their way.

      Hi Debbie,

The course is really for anyone who just wants to find inspiration and take away some ideas from the five of us ladies who are hosting the class. We are covering a wide range of projects and topics from how we each choose paint colors, to how we entertain and create displays. I think anyone interested in home decorating would gain something from the class.

      Thanks for the question!
