baby stuff

Over the last several months (well, year actually) my constant search for the perfect baby goods has been a way to ease my anxiety and pass the time while we waited for our adopted son to arrive. This being our first and only child, I (like most new parents) wanted the best of everything. I bought wooden toys, and the softest bamboo clothing, organic mattresses, and glass baby bottles…. In my searching for the best I came across this wonderful company: Honeydumplings

Honeydumplings was started by two stay and home moms, Louise and Tracey, and their products are all eco-friendly, gorgeous, and nothing short of fabulous! Nothing too busy, or fussy, just my style, clean and classic and gender neutral. Tracey was kind enough to feature Finn’s nursery on their blog a few months back : found here.

I am lucky enough to own several of their products, like the organic swaddle blanket and padded hat in the pebbles pattern, which can be found here: The Essential Collection It is the perfect lightweight blanket for summer and it is not too bulky so it makes swaddling very simple.

Here are a few shots of Finn modeling them for you:

Even more recently we started using the Buckwheat Baby Mat. Not only is it gorgeous with the softest bamboo cover, but it’s filled with tiny buckwheat hulls which have all sorts of cool features, like being antibacterial, antifungal, breathable, insulating, and odor-resistant. Their rustling sound  is also known to soothe and calm fussy babies. It can be used for massage, tummy time, in the stroller, playpen, etc…. I just can’t say enough good things about this mat, which is probably why it’s won several iParenting awards.

Finn has been using it for playtime and he loves the sound it makes. He even agreed to another “modeling” session today, so he could show it off for you.

(Warning…. I may have overdone it  just a bit with the photos here…lol… but he is just too cute!!!)

Thanks for letting me share with you! And if you have any upcoming baby showers to attend, consider Honeydumplings for your gift giving. I highly recommend them! Check out their site: Honeydumplings their blog: Honeydumplings Blog or friend them on Facebook: Honeydumplings on Facebook and tell them Finn sent you! :o)

I wish I would have known of a company like this when my son was tiny.

He is beautiful. I miss my babies. I was an all natural Mommie too. I even used the coolest cloth diapers called Bouys. I don’t know if they are even around anymore. I used all organic products(and that was in the day when they were hard to find). I made my own baby food. I never had any chemicals in our home. And my babies all grew up healthy. Now they are making their own choices and I am please to see them choose organic, recycled, reused, eco-friendly products. They tell me they were glad they were raised that way.

I am passed the baby stage (forever, until grandchildren one day) so the baby necessities don’t interest me as much as the pictures of Finn. Darn, that is one cute boy!

Rita - September 2, 2011 - 3:58 pm

Oh Sarah! Congratulations on your family addition/blog editions!!! It’s been since the Independence Day weekend that I was on your site, and my! how things have changed! I just received my Romantic Homes latest issue yesterday with yet another glimpse of you and your favorite corner, wherein you mentioned the anticipation of baby Finn’s arrivial. Voila!!

The photographs are just wonderful – yours, as well as those taken by family & friend! I especially like the closeup of Finn’s mouth, his cuddled sleeping pose in the wagon, with Hannah looking on (melt my heart), and those first ones with you & your husband. Such blessings! I wish you all a happy journey as you grow as one.

The nursery is everything I would anticipate you putting together – I love it all!

Thank you for sharing and, speaking as one of your followers and patrons – we hope you’ll continue your website of wonderful finds and blogging!
Best,
Rita

I have not been here in quite awhile ( we moved) and I am SO HAPPY to see your new beautiful baby boy Finn! He was born on my Madelyn’s birthday (she is 3 yrs old). I shared quite awhile ago that we also went through infertility and I’m SO HAPY to see your dreams have come true! :)
God bless you all! Ps- his nursery is GORGEOUS :)

debbie hosaflook - September 4, 2011 - 10:30 am

Finn without a doubt makes one of the cutest little baby models. And he certainly looks happy whether it’s being all swaddled in his blanket or free as a bird on his blankie on the floor with his teddy.
Also, while drinking my coffee this morning, I was browsing through my October issue of Romantic Homes and saw your little piece about your favorite nook. Reading how you couldn’t wait to sit in your rocking chair with your first child. I instantly pictured you rocking beautiful Finn now and gazing out of your french doors thinking of the future. Can’t wait for the day when you post about hearing his laughter while he and friends play in the backyard. So very happy that your dreams are coming true:)

Jody - September 4, 2011 - 2:01 pm
