Ok so I was feeling the creative urge today, and I was also feeling a little bit “dolled up” in my new clothes (I met sweet Tara for lunch so I actually got dressed today!), so I decided to snap some photos of myself. (I always feel so vain saying that, but when you’re dying to take pictures and you are home alone, you make do!) Plus my dearest friend Kasey has a photo challenge that I wanted to be a part of (even though I am too early, but at the rate I write new posts, it will probably still be up on Tuesday…lol.) I liked the way a few of them came out (especially the one with my kitty Mason – he LOVES the camera!) so I started editing and decided they needed pairing with some still life images. So I grabbed my camera again, and captured a few more. Once I started editing those… things started flowing and I was able to come up with these three “style boards”. (Don’t really know if that is what I should call them, but it sounds good to me, and they TOTALLY reflect me and my style!)

This first one has a secretive feel to it… I like the lock from my front bureau paired with these two, since they both look so contemplative.

This second one is my favorite. I love the softness of the photo, and the textured paint from my new hope chest paired with it perfectly!!! The colors are in complete harmony.

I also totally adore the stacked booked photo in this one. You will definitely be seeing that one in the shop real soon. :) Mason in his usual fashion was hamming it up for the camera with each frame. He is seriously beyond funny! I have several where we look at each other and then the next shot we both look to the left, etc… he was totally into it (until Hannah got jealous and broke up the shoot). :)
I hope all of you have a great weekend! If you feel up to it, join in the photo challenge on Kasey’s blog, if you let her know you are playing she will link to you so everyone else can take a peek too!

Absolutely gorgeous! I love the stack of books too. A girl after my own heart;)
Hello! I am a beginner photographer and am just trying to get into it as a hobby. I love your blog and follow it regularly! I was just wondering what effects you give your photos to give them that vintage-y feel. I’m just starting to learn photoshop and how to apply actions to my pictures, but there are so many options I don’t know where to start!
Thanks so much! :)
